We explore Jewish religion and culture through a variety of learning approaches, including the use of the arts in learning. In our family-oriented Torah curriculum, parents learn to teach their children the stories of the Torah, and students share their learning with each other and the rest of the congregation. Students learn both Modern Hebrew and traditional Hebrew prayers and blessings. Special events include classes for parents, family dinners and holiday programs. Ohavi Zedek Synagogue's Associate Rabbi, David Steinberg, serves as Principal of the Hebrew School.

TOT
SHABBAT
Our monthly "Tot Shabbat" program, led by Rabbi David and children's musician and storyteller Matthew Witten is geared towards pre-schoolers and their families, but all ages are welcome. The program starts at 11:00am and lasts about 30 minutes. Most Tot Shabbat programs are followed by a community wide Shabbat lunch in the social hall.   If you would to receive information/reminders about upcoming Tot Shabbat programs, as well as other upcoming outreach programs of interest to families with young children, please email OZ’s Membership and Outreach Coordinator Molly Ritvo

The Tot Shabbat Saturdays for 2009-10/5770 are: 11/21, 1/16, 2/13, 3/6, 4/17 and 5/15.
