March 8th We'll be Hamentaschen baking at OZ and delivering mishloach manot to home bound members. Join us for this community service event, (which will also be a lot of fun).
April 5th We realized on poker night what an amazing place the Ethan Allen Club is. We are very lucky to be able to use it, and it has been sold, so we are going to make sure and really enjoy it while we can. We will be hanging out at the Ethan Allen Club where we will bowl, playy pool, cards, and perhaps watch a movie and just relax. We might also learn somethng about Birkat HaChamah, a Jewish holiday that occurs every 28 years, and will be this year on April 8th. It is supposed to celebrate the sun being in the same position it was during creation. Jewish groups this year are connection the holiday to Jewish environmentalism.
May 17th - final event

February 21st - It's time to break up the winter doldrums...with a fantastic Overnight! We will be joining Ohavi Zedek congregants for their Jewish Film Series and watching "The Frisco Kid," warming ourselves up with some Israeli dancing and then having a few fun activities of our own before we tuck in at OZ for the night. What a great way to get out of the house! Meet at 6:30pm at OZ. Be sure to bring your PJ's, sleeping bag and pillow, toothbrush and a change of clothes. Pick up will be at 9:30am. Cost $15.
March 8th - we will be bakin' it up with an annual afternoon of Hamantaschen baking at OZ and getting bags ready and decorated for mishloach manot to be delivered to homebound members of our community.
April 5th - the sun will complete its 28 year cycle, returning to the position that the Talmud says it was in on the fourth day of Creation. A fitting day of activities is on the works, with a possble visit by Teva's Topsy Turvy Bus and/or a joint Birkat Hachama celebration with Montpelier Jewish community.
April 3rd - 5th - Young Judaea Spring Camp at Sprout Lake. Although we are not providing transportation to this event, those that are interested should contact Miriam Sturgis for more information about the weekend and possible rides to New York.
May 17th - Yom Yerushalayim! We will be celebrating at Oak Ledge Park with Israeli food, games, dancing and other fun activities.
June 14th - We'll be spending the day at beautiful Shelburne Museum and participating in the Juvenile Diabetes Recearch Foundation Walk to Cure Juvenile Diabetes. After the walk, all our families will be invited to a beach potluck with great food and games to end the year with a bang.

YOUNG JUDAEA TODAY Together
with Ohavi Zedek, the national organization of Young Judaea underwrites our local
group. In fact, the national organization pays over one half of each leader's
compensation, with Ohavi Zedek picking up most of the other share of the costs.
Young
Judaea is not able to fund clubs that do not have 10 paid members for each age
group each year. In order to continue this arrangement of shared costs, we need
to have all our participants become members of Young Judaea for a yearly fee of
$30/year. Ohavi Zedek will cover this cost in the post Bar/Bat mitzvah year. The
money raised allows the group to continue to be funded here, and will let the
National organization see just how active a group we have. The money you give
also allows Hadassah, Young Judaea's National sponsor, to focus its support on
its hospitals and many programs in Israel and the US. Please
contact Miriam Sturgis for an application.
As always, scholarships are available upon request. Young
Judaea is sponsored by Ohavi Zedek Synagogue and by Hadassah
