Rabbi Amy Joy Small is a visionary rabbi with broad perspective and insight into Jewish communal life. She is both a passionate, dynamic leader skilled at building relationships with lay leadership, staff and colleagues and an innovative writer and educator, translating Jewish wisdom for contemporary lives. Rabbi Amy has extraordinary experience in local, regional, national and international engagement in diverse and transformational activities, actively pursues continuing rabbinic education at the highest levels and imaginatively translates vision into action.
Her experience includes many years as a pulpit rabbi, most recently 16 at Congregation Beth Hatikvah in New Jersey. She is currently the Founder, Rabbi & Director of Deborah’s Palm Center for Jewish Learning & Experience. She received her BS in Elementary Education from Temple University, her MA in Educational Administration from Villanova University, and both her Master of Hebrew Letters and Doctor of Divinity, Honoris Causa from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College.
