Asylum Seekers in Israel: What is the Situation?

Israel is home to more than 30,000 asylum seekers from Eritrea and Sudan who do not have access to legal status as refugees. In this webinar, I will provide an overview of the historical, political, and social context of this social issue, with an aim to spread awareness of the present and future challenges for this community.
Tamar Wolofsky, MSW is a social worker and researcher with expertise in refugee protection, resettlement, and psychosocial support of people with precarious status. She has worked with asylum seekers in Montreal and Tel Aviv since 2017.
