Mural Event at OZ

The Lost Mural Immigrant Voices Project is pleased to welcome: Henia Lewin “A Survivor’s Mission: Preserving Yiddish Language and Literature” Sunday, May 5, 2 – 5 pm. The event is FREE to the public. Henia Lewin is a holocaust survivor from Kovno, Lithuania whose unique story includes being saved by Lithuanian
Christians. She has dedicated her life to preserving Yiddish language and literature. She has taught Hebrew and Yiddish at the
University of Vermont, U. Mass., and Hampshire College. She is a recipient of the prestigious Covenant Award for Outstanding
Jewish Educator in North America. Henia has been featured with National Public Radio’s “The Moth Live On Stage,” many
times. She was the first Goldfarb Chair and Yiddish scholar at the National Yiddish Book Center in Amherst, Massachusetts.
