SUMMARY:Minyan
DESCRIPTION:Ohavi Zedek offers regular minyan services to meet the worship needs of our community and especially to aid those members of our community who are reciting Kaddish in memory of a recently deceased loved one or on a Yahrzeit. Services are held Sunday-Thursday evenings at 7:00. Ohavi Zedek’s minyan is traditional and egalitarian. Mincha and Maariv are recited at evening services when the services begin before dark\, only Ma’ariv is recited once we reach the point in the year when services start after dark. \nIf you are planning to attend a service to recite Kaddish please fill out this form to let us know so we can make sure there is a minyan present. \nZoom link is below under the heading ‘Website’.

SUMMARY:Second Annual Pride Seder 2023
DESCRIPTION:Our second annual Pride Seder is a ritual that chronicles the liberation of LGBTQ+ people\, much like the Passover Seder\, which retells the story of the liberation of the Jewish people.\nJoin a diverse gathering of Vermont LGBTQ+ Jews\, Jew-adjacent folks and allies to celebrate our coming out of bondage with songs\, prayers\, and an unusual and poignant seder plate.  The event is designed for people roughly ages 13 and up.  People of all ages are welcome. \nIf you would like to help out or be a reader\, please leave a comment when you register via the link below or via this LGBTQ+ interest form. \nRegister for the Pride Seder \nEvent History: The first Pride Seder took place in 1995\, using a Haggadah written by Ray Schnitzler and Susie Kisber\, of the Berkeley Queer Minyan.  Copies of the Haggadah travelled to B’nai Jeshurun in New York\, Sha’ar Zahav in San Francisco and many other communities around the world.  We look forward to adapting this Haggadah for our first Vermont event. \nThe Vermont Pride Seder come four days before the Vermont Pride Festival Parade.
