DESCRIPTION:Join us to celebrate and welcome our recent new members to the community with a delicious kiddush. \nTo help us plan for meals\, please: \nRSVP \nOur Shabbat morning service is traditional egalitarian with new melodies and kavannot (spiritual intentions) introduced and incorporated. \nOur morning service will feature our Shabbat Village: \n– An intentional place for families\, children and anyone to schmooze and be together during the time of Shabbat services \n– No pressure to join in the service (though of course all are welcome to attend as much or little as works for you) \n– Families may access the playground\, gardens and trails \n– Everyone is invited to the kiddush (meal) afterward (when applicable) \n– Children’s books and a livestream of services will be provided. Currently\, children will need to be accompanied by their adult(s).  Parents may choose to team up – it takes a village!

DESCRIPTION:Mitzvah Day Weekend\nDid you know that only a third of fourth graders in America can read at a proficient level? Unfortunately\, illiteracy impacts many children in Vermont\, too. There are lifelong implications for children who don’t learn how to read\, and they grow into adults who struggle with low literacy. This is a solvable problem! Learn how we can all work to change the early literacy crisis for all children and their families. \n\nSaturday\, January 20th\n4:45-5:30 PM – Pizza and vegetarian potluck \n5:30- Havdalah led by Rabbi Aaron \n5:45 – Popcorn and movie: A special screening of the groundbreaking documentary\, The Right to Read\, will be available for in-person and Zoom viewing on Saturday night\, January 20th. There will be a special Q&A with Peggy Price\, Fellow/OGA\, Director of the Stern Center Orton-Gillingham Institute. \nChildcare will be available.
