SUMMARY:Shabbat Morning Services
DESCRIPTION:Our Shabbat morning service is traditional egalitarian with new melodies and kavannot (spiritual intentions) introduced and incorporated. \nFollowing services\, we often host a Kiddush – a lunch donated by synagogue members or b mitzvah families\, where all are welcome. Saturday morning services begin at 9:15 AM. \nOur morning service will feature our Shabbat Village: \n– An intentional place for families\, children and anyone to schmooze and be together during the time of Shabbat services \n– No pressure to join in the service (though of course all are welcome to attend as much or little as works for you) \n– Families may access the playground\, gardens and trails \n– Everyone is invited to the kiddush (meal) afterward (when applicable) \n– Children’s books and a video feed of services will be provided. Currently\, children will need to be accompanied by their adult(s). Parents may choose to team up – it takes a village! \nTorah Study typically takes place at 8:30 am before services. SUMMARY:Chana-Kava & Havdalah with Ruach HaMaqom
DESCRIPTION:Ohavi Zedek and Ruach HaMaqom join together in this celebration of Winter’s darkness and the light of hope kindled by the menorah’s flames. \nWe’ll start with Havdallah—the last light of Shabbat—and light our menorahs with it. Then Rabbi David\, along with Rabbi Aaron and Cantor Jessica will hold space for the most ancient of Jewish—human!—spiritual technologies: song and story. That’s where YOU come in! Let’s sing and story each other into increased light during the darkest week of the year while we sip soothing beverages. \nBYOMS&S – Bring Your Own Menorah (including candles)\, Song & Story! \nKava tea and sufganiyot/donuts will be served. Bring some snacks!
