SUMMARY:OZ Village Coffee Klatch - “The Magic Portal of Jewish Artists”
DESCRIPTION:As you know\, the OZ Village Committee is exploring ways to support and enable our congregation’s older adults to live safely and comfortably in their own homes as they age. Since social programming has emerged as a path to fulfill those goals\, the OZV coffee klatch team is continuing to sponsor a series of “klatches” featuring delicious food\, talks on relevant topics\, and lively conversation. \nPlease join us at our next coffee klatch and vegetarian potluck at Ellen and Paul Gittelsohn’s home with a talk about Jewish artists presented by Mike Strauss entitled “The Magic Portal of Jewish Artists”. \nMichael Strauss was a Professor of Chemistry at the University of Vermont for 35 years. Retiring in 2003 and building upon his lifelong interest and study of art\, he has since been teaching drawing and painting at UVM and other educational settings in Vermont. His major interests now include drawing to learn and artistic expression. These ideas are summarized in his book “The Mind at Hand – What Drawing Reveals” (Brownwalker Press). \nThis program is free but does require pre-registration here. Bring yourself and a vegetarian dish to share!\nAll Are Welcome! \n  \n\n  \nOZ Village’s vision is to create a vibrant community of older adults who remain in their own home and age with dignity\, purpose and camaraderie through mutual support\, social engagement and Jewish values.

DESCRIPTION:Monthly meeting of OZ’s Board of Directors. Meetings are planned to run from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm on the third Tuesday of each month. \nMeetings are held in person and on Zoom. When possible meetings include a small group meal prior to the start time. \nAll OZ members are welcome to attend open portions of the meetings. Meetings may include ‘executive sessions’ limited to board members. \nAgendas will be added the week prior to the meeting.

SUMMARY:Minyan (Online Evening)
DESCRIPTION:Ohavi Zedek offers regular minyan services to meet the worship needs of our community and especially to aid those members of our community who are reciting Kaddish in memory of a recently deceased loved one or on a Yahrzeit. Services are held Sunday-Thursday evenings at 7:00 on Zoom. Ohavi Zedek’s minyan is traditional and egalitarian. Mincha and Maariv are recited at evening services when the services begin before dark\, only Ma’ariv is recited once we reach the point in the year when services start after dark.
