DESCRIPTION:Sukkot invites us to step outside\, gather together\, and celebrate the blessings that sustain us. As we continue this joyful festival\, we give thanks for the harvest\, the beauty of creation\, and the gift of community. \n \nTogether we’ll celebrate with prayer\, music\, the waving of the lulav and etrog\, and time in the sukkah—continuing a tradition that has connected Jewish communities for thousands of years. \nWhat Makes This Celebration Special \nThe Lulav & Etrog\nOne of Sukkot’s most beloved traditions is holding the lulav (a bundle of palm\, willow\, and myrtle branches) together with the etrog (a fragrant citron). During the service\, everyone will have the opportunity to participate in this ancient ritual as we gently wave the lulav and etrog in every direction—a beautiful reminder that divine presence and blessings surround us wherever we turn. Whether this is your first Sukkot or a tradition you’ve enjoyed for years\, we’ll guide you through the experience. \nThe Sukkah\nFollowing the service\, we invite everyone into our beautiful sukkah for a meal\, conversation\, and community. Built with a roof of branches\, the sukkah reminds us that life’s greatest blessings are often found in one another\, around a shared table\, and beneath the open sky. \nCommunity\nSukkot is sometimes called “the season of our rejoicing.” It is a holiday of hospitality\, shared meals\, and joyful gathering. Whether you’re reconnecting with old friends or meeting someone new\, we hope you’ll linger after services and enjoy time together. \nBringing the Tradition Home\nCongregants are invited to order their own lulav and etrog sets through Ohavi Zedek as part of High Holiday registration. You’re also welcome to use one of the congregation’s communal sets during the service. \nHow to Attend:\nHigh Holiday services are open to everyone. Services are free for Ohavi Zedek members\, young adults under 30\, and children. Tickets are required for other adult guests. Please register in advance. Everyone who registers will receive a confirmation email with access to our digital Machzor (High Holiday prayer book) and\, where available\, a link to our livestream. \nNew Here?
