DESCRIPTION:As Sukkot continues\, we gather for a quieter\, more intimate festival service celebrating gratitude\, creation\, and community. Together we’ll pray\, sing\, take the lulav and etrog\, and spend time in and around the sukkah\, continuing traditions that have connected Jewish communities for generations. \nWhether you joined us on the first day of Sukkot or are celebrating with us for the first time\, we hope you’ll experience the warmth and joy of this beautiful festival. \nJoin us as we continue our celebration of Sukkot\, giving thanks for the blessings of creation\, sharing in joyful worship\, and gathering as a community in and around the sukkah. \nWhat Makes This Celebration Special \nEveryone Participates in the Lulav & Etrog\nEveryone will have the opportunity to personally participate in the ancient Sukkot tradition of gently holding and waving the lulav and etrog in every direction as an expression of gratitude for creation and a reminder that God’s presence and blessings surround us wherever we turn. \nWhether this is your first Sukkot or a tradition you’ve enjoyed for years\, we’ll guide you through the ritual. \nCommunity in the Sukkah\nFollowing the service\, we invite everyone to gather in our sukkah for conversation\, a light meal and the simple joy of being together. Built with a roof of branches\, the sukkah reminds us that life’s greatest blessings are often found in one another\, around a shared table\, and beneath the open sky. \nJoyful Festival Worship\nSukkot is known as “the season of our rejoicing.” Through prayer\, music\, and shared celebration\, we continue this joyful festival together. \nBringing the Tradition Home\nCongregants are invited to order their own lulav and etrog sets through Ohavi Zedek as part of High Holiday registration. You’re also welcome to use one of the congregation’s communal sets during the service. \nHow to Attend:\nHigh Holiday services are open to everyone. Services are free for Ohavi Zedek members\, young adults under 30\, and children. Tickets are required for other adult guests. Please register in advance. Everyone who registers will receive a confirmation email with access to our digital Machzor (High Holiday prayer book) and\, where available\, a link to our livestream. \nNew Here? SUMMARY:Family Sukkot Apple Cider Presstival
DESCRIPTION:What better way to celebrate Sukkot than by bringing together one of Judaism’s harvest festivals with one of Vermont’s favorite harvest traditions? Join us for a joyful morning of fresh apple cider\, hands-on activities\, community\, and seasonal fun. \nBeginning at 10:00 a.m.\, families with young children (ages 0–5) and our preschool community are invited to gather for apple cider pressing\, edible sukkah making\, and other family-friendly Sukkot activities. Throughout the morning\, families are invited to experience Sukkot in whatever way is most meaningful for them\, participating in the Sukkot Day 2 service\, the family activities\, or a combination of both. \nAt 10:45 a.m.\, our Jewish Journeys students and families will participate in the Sukkot Day 2 service before joining the Presstival around 11:00 a.m. to continue the celebration with younger children and families. \nAt 11:45 a.m.\, everyone is invited to stay for our Community Bagel Brunch\, a wonderful opportunity to enjoy good food\, connect with friends old and new\, and celebrate Sukkot together. \nWhether you’re worshipping in the sanctuary\, pressing fresh cider\, creating an edible sukkah\, sharing brunch\, or simply enjoying time with other families\, this is a wonderful way to experience the joy\, gratitude\, and harvest traditions of Sukkot. \nBring Your Own Jug!\nIf you’d like to take some fresh-pressed cider home\, bring a clean jug or empty cider container to fill. We’ll have plenty of fresh cider to share! \nWhat to Expect\nThe morning is designed especially for families with young children while welcoming participants of all ages. Everyone is invited to participate at their own comfort level. Come celebrate the sweetness of the harvest season\, the joy of community\, and one of Judaism’s happiest festivals. \nEveryone is welcome. Everyone belongs.
