SUMMARY:Holding Hope Together – An October 7 Gathering of Remembrance\, Healing & Hope
DESCRIPTION:Three years after October 7\, we will come together for an evening of remembrance\, healing and hope — remembering those we have lost\, reflecting on how these years have affected us\, listening to one another\, and looking toward the future. \nCome at 5:00 pm for hors d’oeuvres and time to gather; the program begins at 5:30 pm. \nJoining us will be Myriam Darmoni Charbit\, an Israeli peace worker and educator who shared the High Holidays with our community in 2023. When October 7 happened\, Myriam and her family were here in Burlington\, far from their home in Israel\, and OZ became part of how they experienced the days that followed. \nNow back in Israel\, Myriam’s work includes bringing Jewish and Palestinian Israeli women together in what she calls “small experiments of peace.” She returns to Burlington to share some of what she has experienced and learned — and to help us listen\, reflect and hold onto hope. \nThis will be a participatory evening\, with stories\, conversation\, communal art\, prayer\, music and singing. Together\, we will remember\, make space for the different ways these years have affected us\, and create something together. \nParticipate in whatever way feels right — through conversation\, art\, prayer or song — or simply be present. \n  \nAdvance registration is encouraged but not required

SUMMARY:Minyan (Online Evening)
DESCRIPTION:Ohavi Zedek offers regular minyan services to meet the worship needs of our community and especially to aid those members of our community who are reciting Kaddish in memory of a recently deceased loved one or on a Yahrzeit. Services are held Sunday-Thursday evenings at 7:00 on Zoom. Ohavi Zedek’s minyan is traditional and egalitarian. Mincha and Maariv are recited at evening services when the services begin before dark\, only Ma’ariv is recited once we reach the point in the year when services start after dark. We also hold Sunday Shacharit at 8:45 AM in person and on Zoom. \nIf you are planning to attend a service to recite Kaddish please fill out this form to let us know so we can make sure there is a minyan present. \nClick here to access the Weekday Siddur Lev Shalem used during our evening Minyan services. \nZoom link is below under the heading ‘Website’. \nPlease make your full first and last name viewable on Zoom\, so we know who you are and can admit you. \nResources: \nWhen Should I Say Kaddish for Yahrzeit? \nThe Mourner’s Kaddish: A Memorial Prayer in Praise of God by My Jewish Learning \n  \n
