DESCRIPTION:VJP readings are designed to deepen our connections as a community. Each poet will read for 15 minutes\, followed by a brief period of audience comments. \nA list of the readers and bios is below. I grew up in Queens\, the great melting pot. I’ve been writing since my teens. I now reside in Montpelier with my cat and lots of books. I sing in two choirs and am a musician/ songwriter. I don’t know what else to say but that I am committed to a life of love and justice \n\n \nIvy Schweitzer\nBorn in Brooklyn\, NY\, Ivy Schweitzer now lives in Vermont and has taught American Literature and Women’s Studies at Dartmouth College. She writes about cultural identity and social justice from a feminist and Jewish perspective. Her poems have appeared recently in Passager\, Ritualwell\, Tikkun\, New Croton Review\, Mississippi Review\, Spoon River Poetry Review\, The New England Poetry Club’s Prize Winners’ Anthology 2024 and The Mountain Troubadour. Her debut solo collection\, Dividing Rivers\, appeared in 2025 from Finishing Line Press.
