SUMMARY:The Parents Circle’s virtual launch of Listening from the Heart
DESCRIPTION:Amidst the grim reality in Israel and Palestine\, we invite you to join The Parent’s Circle* for a glimmer of hope on Wednesday\, Oct. 30 at 2:00 PM Eastern for the virtual launch of Listening from the Heart . \nOver the last year\, scores of North American universities\, communities\, and workplaces have reached out to us with one common plea for help. These communities have become divided and polarized around the Israeli and Palestinian conflict. Friends and families have stopped talking to each other and schools can’t have real dialogue. \nIn response\, we developed a new peace education program\, Listening from the Heart\, in partnership with Georgetown University. The program is designed to foster empathy and dialogue between divided communities\, using recorded testimonies of bereaved Israelis and Palestinians\, along with a comprehensive facilitation guide\, discussion questions and further resources. We are proud to say it’s been endorsed by the American Federation of Teachers. \nJoin us for the virtual launch of Listening from the Heart on Wednesday\, October 30th. The virtual event will explore what is included in the program and answer questions. You will get to hear from Jewish and Palestinian college students about how Listening from the Heart impacted their campus. Attendees will receive free access to Part I of the Facilitation Guide. \n*Note: Ohavi Zedek and The Parent’s Circle also co-hosted an event in June of 2024.
