DESCRIPTION:Our fifth annual Pride Seder is a ritual that chronicles the liberation of LGBTQA people\, much like the Passover Seder\, which retells the story of the liberation of the Jewish people. \nRegister Here \nJoin a diverse gathering of Vermont LGBTQA Jews\, Jew-adjacent folks and allies to celebrate our coming out of bondage with songs\, prayers\, and an unusual and poignant seder plate. People of all ages are welcome. \nEvent History: The first Pride Seder took place in 1995\, using a Haggadah written by Ray Schnitzler and Susie Kisber\, of the Berkeley Queer Minyan. Copies of the Haggadah travelled to B’nai Jeshurun in New York\, Sha’ar Zahav in San Francisco and many other communities around the world. SUMMARY:Bread For Peace - June 2026
DESCRIPTION:A fundraiser for humanitarian aid in Israel and Palestine. A partnership between communities\, volunteers bake and sell bread in the community kitchens to benefit these medical relief organizations: \nUnited Hatzalah: first responders in Israel\nPalestine Children’s Relief Fund: medical care for children in Gaza and West Bank \nOur goal is to partner with a diverse groups of interfaith congregations on this project. This date will include Ohavi Zedek and Burlington Friends Meeting\, as well as other invited local congregations. If your house of worship church\, synagogue or mosque is interested in participating\, please contact us. \nBread (challah\, pita\, gluten-free scones) will be baked in the OZ kitchen from and available for pick-up in the evening or the following day in Burlington or Richmond.
