SUMMARY:Shabbat Morning Services & Adult Ed Kiddush
DESCRIPTION:Our Shabbat morning service is traditional egalitarian with new melodies and kavannot (spiritual intentions) introduced and incorporated. \nFollowing services\, we often host a Kiddush – a lunch donated by synagogue members or b mitzvah families\, where all are welcome. Saturday morning services begin at 9:15 AM. \nOur morning service will feature our Shabbat Village: \n– An intentional place for families\, children and anyone to schmooze and be together during the time of Shabbat services \n– No pressure to join in the service (though of course all are welcome to attend as much or little as works for you) \n– Families may access the playground\, gardens and trails \n– Everyone is invited to the kiddush (meal) afterward (when applicable) \n– Children’s books and a livestream of services will be provided. Currently\, children will need to be accompanied by their adult(s).  Parents may choose to team up – it takes a village!

DESCRIPTION:Join volunteers in the kitchen to prepare food for the newly revitalized G’MaCh* freezer! \nSign Up Here \n  \nThe freezer will be chock full of 3 seasonal vegan or vegetarian soups as well as Jeff’s delicious mac & cheese. \nThe freezer is available to anyone in the OZ community: use it to kickstart a meal train\, to grab a meal for a member in need\, to take for yourself when life gets too harried to cook. \nWe need your help to keep the freezer stocked!  We are looking for 3-6 cooks each day\, as well as a leader or co leader for each day.  The cooking groups will meet the first Sunday\, Second Wednesday and Third Friday of each month\, cooking up fresh batches of seasonal soup (with a changing menu every 3 months or so). \nOne we stock the freezer we hope to also focus on feeding others in need beyond OZ’s community. \nDrop ins welcome; OZ membership is not required! \nOur plan is to gather three teams to meet monthly: \n\nFirst Sunday at 9:30 am\nSecond Wednesday at 12:30 pm\nThird Friday at 12:30 pm\n\nSign Up Here \n* GmaCh means acts of loving kindness. Read more about G’MaCh here.

DESCRIPTION:This weekend’s services are lay led\, featuring guest davener\, UVM student Kalman Slater! \nKalman\, who is from Evanston\, Illinois\, grew up in an observant and creative Jewish household\, participating in various lay-led egalitarian communities with prayer styles ranging from renewal to traditional. He channels this upbringing through his davvening by interspersing contemporary melodies with traditional nusach\, honoring our rich tradition and elevating communal prayer. Outside of OZ\, Kalman is an EMT and is studying public health and emergency medical services at UVM. \nIf you have not had an opportunity to pray with our guest leader\, Kalman Slater\, now is an amazing time in our Jewish calendar\, the month of Adar\, to do just that\, as Kalman’s  enlivening energy is contagious!\nService will be followed by a delicious kiddush sponsored by Adele Wolfson & Dan Seeley\, in memory of Adele’s father Henry Wolfson on the occasion of his yahrzeit. Adele will also be giving the d’var Torah in his honor. \n\n– An intentional place for families\, children and anyone to schmooze and be together during the time of Shabbat services \n– No pressure to join in the service (though of course all are welcome to attend as much or little as works for you) \n– Families may access the playground\, gardens and trails \n– Everyone is invited to the kiddush (meal) afterward (when applicable) \n– Children’s books and a livestream of services will be provided. Currently\, children will need to be accompanied by their adult(s).  Parents may choose to team up – it takes a village!
