He is Co-founder of the Network for Human Understanding\, an interfaith effort to build sustainable\, empowering communities in every economic environment. Pastor Arnold is a lyricist whose words have been published as hymns. He is the moderator of The Talk\, Vermont (formerly the Racism in America Forum). The Talk\, Vermont invites viewers into a wide range of topics and conversations concerning bias and bigotry in Vermont.  \n  \nDr. Thomas received his B.A. in Religious Studies and Philosophy from Hiram College\, his Master of Divinity from Yale University\, receiving the Wolcott Calkins Award for excellence in preaching\, and his Doctorate in Ministry from Hartford Seminary. DESCRIPTION:This free event is the first in a series for people in interfaith families or relationships*.  The goal is to create space for couples or individuals from interfaith families to connect\, learn and support each other.  This event is for jewish and/or ‘adjacent’ individuals of any religious background. \nWe will meet Sunday\, June 4 at 9:15 for coffee and bagels and a guided small group ‘check-in\,’ followed by a facilitated discussion about the interfaith family experience.\n \nThis program will be co-facilitated by Rachel Jolly\, Michael Schaal and Brett Smith. \nThanks to our grant from the National Center to Encourage Judaism\, we can provide childcare and food at no cost. \n*By interfaith families\, we are referring to folks who are part of families or relationships in which one party is Jewish and another is not.  This includes those in multi-heritage families.  Those who are Jews by choice are welcome as well. \nPlease Register Here \n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n*This event was rescheduled from April 16. \nFuture events are in development.  We have tentatively planned a summer outdoor family gathering and a fall event focused on the “December Dilemma Delight: Navigating Winter Holidays.”  But we’ll be flexible: future events will take shape from our attendee feedback.
