See this article for more information. \nJoin hosts Adele\, Lani and Mitch and a friendly friendly group of people that gathers periodically on Zoom or in person to enjoy the folkdances of Israel! \nWe mostly dance around a circle so no partner is required. SUMMARY:Yom Yerushalayim
DESCRIPTION:On the twenty-eighth day of Iyyar in 1967\, the IDF entered the Old City of Jerusalem\, which Jordan had occupied since the War of Independence in 1948. Among other things\, this meant that the Western Wall (the kotel)\, the last surviving remnant of the Temple\, was again in Jewish hands\, as were many other sites of incomparable historical and cultural significance. \nIt has become customary to observe the twenty-eighth of Iyyar as Yom Yerushalayim (Jerusalem Day). There is no fixed liturgy for this day\, nor are there any specific home or communal rituals that have evolved. It is merely an opportunity to reflect on the sanctity of Jerusalem and to honor the men and women of the Israel Defense Forces who participated in its liberation. It is also appropriate to remember those who fell in the battle for the city\, both in 1948 and then again in 1967.

DESCRIPTION:Ohavi Zedek offers regular minyan services to meet the worship needs of our community and especially to aid those members of our community who are reciting Kaddish in memory of a recently deceased loved one or on a Yahrzeit. Services are held Sunday-Thursday evenings at 7:00 on Zoom. Ohavi Zedek’s minyan is traditional and egalitarian. Mincha and Maariv are recited at evening services when the services begin before dark\, only Ma’ariv is recited once we reach the point in the year when services start after dark. DESCRIPTION:Antisemitism is a prejudice that waxes and wanes\, and today is embedded in both left-wing and right-wing political views. Biases can cause a person to ignore or trivialize expressions of prejudice that align with their own political identity.
