The Transformation of a Rabbi, A Synagogue, and Vermont’s Religious Landscape
April 9 @ 5:00 pm - 6:30 pm

Two local historians and archivists from Ohavi Zedek Synagogue in Burlington, Jeff Potash, Ph.D., and Aaron Goldberg, J.D., will speak about the impact and legacy of Rabbi Max B. Wall (1915-2009). They will focus on his time as a U.S. Army chaplain in Europe during World War II and his work to construct the current Ohavi Zedek synagogue and community center in Burlington. Rabbi Wall was closely connected to Saint Michael’s College as a professor. An endowment in his honor has sponsored this annual lecture since 1986. This year, for the first time, the lecture will focus on Rabbi Wall himself.
The talk, which is free and open to the public, will take place at Saint Michael’s College’s McCarthy Arts Center Recital Hall.
