Ohavi Zedek Synagogue’s vibrant kosher kitchen is home to many activities – preparing traditional foods for celebrations, making meals for those in need and weekly lunch meals after Saturday religious services.
We are seeking a dishwasher, kitchen helper, organizer primarily for Saturdays between 12:30 and 3:30 pm, with additional shifts available on other days each month.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a hard working and kind kitchen helper who likes to work both on their own and with others. We offer a fun and respectful work environment. Responsibilities include:
- Cleaning dishes with commercial dishwasher and by hand
- Busing tables, handling compost and waste
- Kitchen organizing and cleaning
- Working collaboratively with co-workers and volunteers
QUALIFICATIONS
- Able to work in fast paced environment
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand on your feet for up to 5 hours
- Able to bend, stretch, lift, and squat throughout shift
- Interest in supporting community through food
- Kitchen / dishwashing experience a plus
Other:
- This is a part time, hourly position located at Ohavi Zedek in Burlington
- Shifts include most Saturdays from 12:30 to 3:30 pm (end time varies based on attendance). Other shifts are available for special events (dinners or lunches) and special projects (special cleaning)
- The pay range is $17 to $21 per hour
