After the introspection of the High Holy Days, Judaism invites us back into community. Sukkot, the Festival of Booths, is a joyful celebration of gratitude, hospitality, and togetherness. We gather in the sukkah—a simple outdoor shelter that recalls our ancestors’ journey through the wilderness while reminding us that life’s greatest blessings are often found in one another, around a shared table, and beneath the open sky.

What Makes This Service Special

Worship in the Sukkah
Weather permitting, portions of our celebration will take place in or around our beautiful sukkah, bringing worship outdoors and closer to the natural world.

A Week of Hospitality Begins
Jewish tradition encourages us to welcome guests into the sukkah. Throughout the week, Ohavi Zedek will gather different parts of our community for meals, conversations, celebrations, and learning, making the sukkah a place of connection and belonging.

Gratitude
Sukkot reminds us to pause and appreciate life’s blessings—our homes, our relationships, the harvest, and the community that surrounds us.

About the Sukkah
A sukkah is a temporary outdoor shelter built for the holiday of Sukkot. Its roof is traditionally made from natural materials and left open enough to see the sky, reminding us of both the fragility of life and the enduring strength found in faith, gratitude, and community.

How to Attend:
High Holiday services are open to everyone. Services are free for Ohavi Zedek members, young adults under 30, and children. Tickets are required for other adult guests. Please register in advance. Everyone who registers will receive a confirmation email with access to our digital Machzor (High Holiday prayer book) and, where available, a link to our livestream.
