Yom Kippur 2024 | 5785 – Afternoon Discussion With Visiting Rabbi Suzanne Griffel
October 12 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
This is our second year gathering in the yurt with visiting Rabbi Suzanne Griffel on Yom Kippur afternoon.
Last year’s program:
During the afternoon service of Yom Kippur, after we have been fasting and praying for close to 20 hours, we read from the “Holiness code“ in Leviticus 19. Instead of further expounding on themes of sin and atonement, it gives multiple examples of how to pursue holiness as individuals and in community. What is this text doing in the middle of Yom Kippur, and how can it guide us as we reenter our regular lives after the final shofar blast of Ne’ilah?”
Rabbi Suzanne Griffel is from Chicago, and has the good fortune to spend Yom Kippur in Burlington.
