Local Vermont author Dr. Beth Malow will discuss her award-winning book followed by a Q and A. Learn how you can transform the politics of contempt into the politics of hope in your relationships as well as make a difference in your community and nation. Books will be available for purchase and signing following the talk.
Award-winning book, Beyond the Politics of Contempt: Practical Steps to Build Positive Relationships in Divided Times offers a hopeful roadmap for Americans trying to make sense of this dark moment and striving to find a better way. The goal is to transform the politics of fear and hatred into the politics of hope. The authors offer personal stories and practical tips to better our lives, our relationships, and our country — including how to stand up for what you believe without disparaging others.
The book received a Literary Titan Award for “exceptional quality in writing, research, and presentation” and transforming “complex topics into accessible and compelling narratives that captivate readers and enhance our understanding.”
Beth Malow lives in Hartford, Vermont, and is an active member of her Jewish community. She’s a neurologist and science communicator focused on public health, sleep, and climate change. A TEDx speaker who moderates workshops and debates for Braver Angels, she has appeared on NPR 1A, PBS Newshour, and other news outlets.
