ChaiLights – Yoga in The Yurt (And Scrabble Alternative)
October 16, 2022 @ 9:15 am - 10:30 am
FreeOctober 16, we will meet at OZ at 9:10 am for a 9:15 start. Those interested in the yoga program will meet in the yurt.
Yoga in the yurt will be led by community member Peggy Price, RYT-200, and creator of Yoga Body, Jewish Mind. Class starts with mindfulness breathing exercises, slow flow yoga, and concludes with a discussion and chevruta (partner) discussion of a Jewish text. This is a multi-level yoga class* perfect for beginners and experienced yogis. Please wear comfortable clothes and bring a water bottle, yoga mat (and a yoga block if you have one). No Hebrew or background knowledge is required. Like any good Jewish yoga class, bagels will be provided after class. There will be a standard exercise waiver you will be required to sign to participate in the yoga class. Meet in the yurt behind the main building.
Space Is Limited – Register Here!
Please plan to arrive at least 5 minutes early so class can begin promptly at 9:15 am.
An alternative activity; Scrabble! Those not wishing to practice yoga will be able to meet for a few games of Scrabble, conversation and a nosh in the social hall. Please bring a scrabble game and an updated scrabble dictionary if you have one! Our host for this activity will be Suzanne Brown.
About ChaiLights
This fall, OZ will be serving bagels, coffee and tea, with fun/social group experiences for adults!
Beginning September 11th, ten weekly ChaiLights gatherings will give you a chance to learn a little, taste a little, share a little, maybe even schvitz (sweat!) a little while connecting with others.
Each gathering will start off with food and open conversation, followed by a unique experience that will engage and inspire, let us create and improve the world. This project’s vibe is fun, social and low-pressure, with activities lead by community volunteers. Its a great fit for Jews, Jewish-adjacent and those who are just curious.
Thanks to a program sponsor, individuals or couples who sign up by September 7th and attend at least 3 dates will receive a Hanukkah Kit (worth over $50) for free.
