Mah Jongg Beginner Class – Wednesdays
Ohavi Zedek Social Hall 188 N. Prospect St, Burlington, VTJoin our beginner Mah Jongg class, taught by Lynda Siegel. Wednesdays, 5pm - 7pm: 7/1, 7/8, 7/15, 7/22, 7/29 In this five week class, students will learn the basics of American Mah Jongg. Erev Tisha B’Av Service
Ohavi Zedek Synagogue 188 North Prospect Street, Burlington, VT, United StatesAn evening of solemn contemplation and commemoration of the destruction of the Temples and the tragedies that have befallen us since. The evening service will include ma'ariv, the reading of Eikha (Lamentations), and singing of kinot (liturgical dirges). In-person only.
Tisha B’Av Morning Service
Ohavi Zedek Synagogue 188 North Prospect Street, Burlington, VT, United StatesTisha B'Av shacharit is a solemn, mournful service. Unlike regular weekday mornings, we do not wear a tallit or tefillin during the service. The liturgy features the chanting of kinot (elegies) and a special Torah reading. In-person only.

Tisha B’Av Afternoon Service
Ohavi Zedek Synagogue 188 North Prospect Street, Burlington, VT, United StatesTisha B’Av minchah is unique in that we wear a tallit and tefillin. We also have a special Torah and Haftarah reading for fast days. We will conclude with ma’ariv and mourners kaddish. In-person only.

Torah Study
Ohavi Zedek Synagogue 188 North Prospect Street, Burlington, VT, United StatesJoin us on Saturday mornings to examine midrash and medieval commentators and Hassidic text to uncover the many layers of meaning in the torah together. Participants are encouraged to bring their own torah commentaries to share.
Shabbat Morning Services
Ohavi Zedek Synagogue 188 North Prospect Street, Burlington, VT, United StatesOur Shabbat morning service is traditional egalitarian with new melodies and kavannot (spiritual intentions) introduced and incorporated. Following services, we often host a Kiddush – a lunch donated by synagogue members or b mitzvah families, where all are welcome. Saturday morning services begin at 9:15 AM.
