Looking for a welcoming place to connect with other parents while your little one plays?
Join us Monday mornings for Playgroup at OZ—a free community gathering for families with children ages 0–5. Enjoy toys, books, music, simple snacks, coffee, and plenty of time for children to play while parents and caregivers get to know one another.
Playgroup is rooted in the values of kindness, community, and belonging. While hosted by Ohavi Zedek, it is designed for everyone. Jewish families, interfaith families, neighbors, and families of all backgrounds are warmly welcome. No synagogue membership or previous connection to OZ is needed.
Our goal is simple: create a relaxed, friendly space where children can have fun and families can build lasting friendships.
What to Expect
- Free play with age-appropriate toys and books
- Coffee, tea, and light snacks
- A warm, welcoming environment for parents, grandparents, and caregivers
- An occasional story, song, or seasonal activity inspired by Jewish culture and the rhythms of the year
Meet Your Hosts
Playgroup is led by a small, friendly team who love working with young children and building community. Both Katherine and Andrea will have their own toddlers with them, helping create a relaxed, peer-based environment, and additional community volunteers will be on hand to support the group:
- Katherine – Creator of the Ritual Podcast, Katherine brings a passion for creating inclusive, welcoming spaces where families can connect and feel at home.
- Andrea – A board member of Lost Mural Project and former curator of the Fleming Museum, Andrea brings a love of early childhood play and community-building.
Details
Who: Families with children ages 0–5
When: Mondays from 10:00–11:30 a.m.
- First Monday of the month (October–December 2026): October 5, November 2, December 7
- First and third Mondays of the month (January–March 2027): January 4 & 18, February 1 & 15, March 1 & 15
We begin with a once-a-month gathering in the fall to build community, then expand to twice-monthly sessions in the winter as the group grows and families look for more opportunities to connect.
Cost: Free
Registration: Registration is encouraged so we can plan for snacks, but drop-ins are always welcome.
